Lulworth Castle – Wedding Venue
Lulworth Castle must be one of the most beautiful venues in the UK.
The area alone is stunning in itself but the castle and the grounds around it are simply stunning! The wow factor for a wedding venue is huge, when people arrive at the castle they are simply amazed at its beauty.
The castle dates back to 1609 where it was used as a hunting lodge, now a wedding venue so since it was built over 400 years ago it is still being used to entertain people. I have been very fortunate to photograph many weddings here over the years as a recommended photographer so the highlight of my year is coming down to Lulworth to photograph a wedding. Spoilt for choice with picture taking process springs to mind and I usually end up taking way to many pictures from the day.
With the ceremony in the castle people usually arrive around 1pm for a 2pm ceremony. The grand entrance of the bride is a stunning sight too. The huge group shot picture on the castle steps takes some arranging but I’ve done this picture so many times over the years for me it only takes 5 mins to set up.
I work quickly and quietly to get all the pictures from the day in a reportage style.
The wedding breakfast soon approaches and time to sit down for a banquet. Very soon the live band will start to play and the evening part will begin. For me a great opportunity to get some shots of the first dance and everyone else enjoying themselves as well. With the time approaching 9pm its usually time for me to go unless there are fireworks planned.
